Baby, It's Cold Outside!!

Like everywhere else in the country, it's been so COLD here!!  This morning when we woke up, I checked the temperature and it was a balmy -17 outside.  On January 9th, why do I get the feeling that it's going to be a long winter???  At least the sun was shining though, which does make a huge difference, and the temps are predicted to rise every day this week.  But it can't happen soon enough. Oh how I long for the single digits to return!  It's not that I can't handle the cold, it's just that Ava and I are getting stir-crazy from being home so much this week.  Even though she's cute in a hat and seems fairly un-phased by the arctic tundra she lives in, I don't like to have her out much when it's this cold.  It's just too much work to keep her warm and me sane.  Probably more work to accomplish the latter!  The amount of time it takes to run an errand, easily doubles when you add all the winter gear and worries to the mix.  Plus, who wants to push a stroller through the dirty, slushy snow??  Not me!

But, even I have my breaking point and know when it's time to give in.
So we've thrown caution to the wind...

And we've bundled her up in her lumber-jack hat...

We've strapped her in her fleece covered car seat...

And taken her on a few winter adventures!  Stroller and all.

Because after all, she is a Minnesota native.  And that's how we handle winter here.
We don't stay in our houses and hibernate.  (Well at least not most days)  We brave the elements, put on our best gear, and make the most of it.  Because even though it's cold, life does goes on and so do our hats and gloves!  We may be stupid, but at least we're not alone.  We have many winter adventures ahead of us, because it's only January!!

So, what do you think, is she up for it??

I think that little grin means says it all :)
We're raising an eskimo...

Oh, Stephanie, and we think it's cold here in Florida. Actually, it IS cold for us and I guess everything is relative. We're not used to 8 straight days of below freezing temps. But, I'm not sure I could handle 17 below. However, I believe Ava can and she looks so cute while doing that. She is just precious---just keep enjoying every minute with her.

She will definitely be unfazed by Texas winters and if you bring her every year in August we'll make sure she loves heat too! Lol I know all lumber jacks are coveting her pink hat, looks very cozy.
