A Little Help From My Friends??

***Comments are now closed.  Thank you for helping me out!  Winner to be announced soon!***

Ok, I'm once again asking you, lots of you in fact, to come out of hiding and help me out :) I need some help, and by help I mean comments.  Comments relating to a very specific question.  I will happily explain why I need your comments (in another post, later) but for now please play along with me!

In fact, IF you decide to play along with me, and IF you leave me a comment with your name and email address, then I will randomly choose a winner for my very first give-away!  It doesn't matter if you know me, if you're related to me,  or if we've never met.  I'll use a random generator to pick, so just enter!  Yep, I was saving the first give-away for a different occasion, but oh well!  Today is the day!!

So, here is the question I need you to answer for me....

"When it comes to Christmas decorating, what is one area that you'd appreciate some help with??  (For example, your tree, a wreath, your house, your table, gifts, etc.)"

In other words, in your own world, what is something you feel like you can't do or don't do well or wish you could do better??

I'm looking for a broad cross section of women to answer this, so please don't hesitate to jump in there.  Younger, older, renter, home owner, dreamer, wife, mother, single, not looking, whatever!! If you have a pulse and an opinion, please play along with me :)

Now IF you play along, and IF your name gets chosen, I will email you and find out what color scheme you like to decorate in.  Then I will go to a fun, local store (where I buy flowers) and get you a set of ornaments that works for your tree!  I just attended their Christmas Open House and let me tell you, there is some gorgeous and fun stuff out there!  I would love to shop for you!!  And I'll show everyone else what I bought for you :)

I'm going to leave the comments open for a couple of days, so spread the word and jump in!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!  I can't wait to read your comments!!

Hi Stephanie

The area of focus or help that I need is adding accessories throughout the house not just the tree.

I need a new wreath this year so would love some help there....and perhaps the 'house' in the sense that I have a big staircase and high ceilings in my foyer, and a railing that looks over into my family room that will be crying out for some decor. This is our first Christmas in this house and it has alot of potential but is a little overwhelming in that dept.

I think the place I most need help in decorating is the outside of the house!!! With a 2 year old this year, I'm thinking I'll have to do "more" than usual (which typically is just a wooden snowman by the front door!).

What a fun thing!

I got married last year, and I have a mismatch of ornaments from childhood and cute ones. I bought a package of Christmas balls, but they don't look that elegant. I guess I'd love help with a beautiful tree!

I have been reading your blog for a while now and this is my first comment I have left. I need help with making a wreath for my front door. I have never made one and they are much to expensive to buy a good one.

I would love help with more ideas for bringing nature inside for Christmas. We do not do a real tree because Dak is allergic, (and it is messy and sweet hubby is NOT a fan of messy =) so I am always trying to bring natural elements into my Christmas decorating. I would love to know your ideas. I have pine cone garlands and little birdies and birds nests, but I'd love some more ideas. I love the unexpected in decorating.

Oh this is sooooooooo fun!!!

I just love you Steph ~~ you are so wonderful ~~ this is such a fun idea!!

Have a Blessed and Beautiful evening,
Dawn

I would love to hear ideas on how to decorate without causing myself headaches and "No" all day to my 18 month old. Last year she was small enough we could still put decorations on some of the higher tables and she pretty much ignored the tree - won't be like that this year!

That wasn't on your list though, for the things on your list it would be tables and shelves (surfaces). I never know when I am going overboard or when I can put a Christmas thing next to a non-Christmas thing and still have it look okay.

I'm with Linda: help me learn to tie pretty bows! I have always tied my shoes with the bunny ears method and I cannot tie an attractive bow to save my life. I rue the day my preschool teacher taught me that shortcut! Everyone says tying things the "right" way is so easy, but I have never yet succeeded!

I would really love a nice wreath to decorate my door. I have 3 cats and 2 young boys, so decorating inside is very difficult as well. I can only use unbreakable ornaments on the tree because the cats knock it over at least once every season. So maybe I need some help with decorations that can be added out of cats and boys reach, also.
btw-I live in your home state along the Mississippi

Hi Steph!! This is such a great idea!! Well, if I was honest I would say I need help with ALL aspects of house decorating! (Not my gift) We have a hodge-podge of decorations that have been given to us.Nothing coordinates :) What I would really love help with is a wreath!! I have had it on my "want" list for a long time but that was low on my priority buy list! :)

Since I got married last july 2007, me and my hubby vowed to decorate our christmas tree together. Now is my baby's 2nd time to celebrate Christmas and we're so excited for him to put on decors on the tree himself! Last Christmas was great though but baby was still young then to put a decor on his own, and now will be his first time! This will be a fun and symbolic family bonding for us... =D

Hi Steph! I would like some help with decorating in a SMALL living room! Right now we are holding off on buying a Christmas tree until we have a place with a bigger living room, so I would love ideas for making the room feel festive without a tree!

I do really good in my kitchen and living room, but I struggle with the bedroom and office (2 places where I spend a lot of time). I'm thinking of putting a smaller tree in the bedroom that I have no place for, but it's a nice tree. So basically I lack decorations in areas where I spend time. I also have to figure out where to put my Willow Tree Nativity scene this year because the shelf it was on last year was not big enough! Hope this helps with your question!

Hi Stephanie! Well we just moved and this will be our first Christmas here! I think I have a problem with accessorizing for the holidays (or period). I can't decide on things and then I don't want to clutter things up (I'm simple). That OR the VERY TALL WALLS in the living room that I have no clue what to add to to make them 'holiday-ish' :-)

How fun!

Well Steph,
There are SO many aspects of my decorating that need help. :) But, if I had to pick one, it would be the house in general. There really isn't a great theme, other than I love, love, love snowmen. :) They are perfect for all of winter, not just Christmas you know!
My kids are pretty set on how they do the tree, which is fine for me, and I have a really nice wreath for my door.
Now, I just have to win...hmmm, I wonder if this generator can be bribed??? :) Just kidding!

I found your blog through Kelly's. (Harper's mommy) I've never commented but I'm an avid reader. Your little girl is a doll.

I REALLY need ideas for my dining room table when it comes to Christmas deco. I like having Christmas decorations throughout the main living areas of my house..and the dining room has always puzzled me. HELP!?!

Hi Stephanie
The one thing I really need help with is a nice wreath. I just can't seem to find one that I really love. I have made a few of them myself and have bought a few that I thought I really liked but I still can't find that one special one.

Hi Stephanie,
First, I love your blog. I am a midwest momma who has moved to the East coast, so I enjoy the sense of "home" your blog provides :) I also have a little girl about a month younger than Ava. I love reading your Ava stories and comparing with my own. As for Christmas decor, I'd love some help in the area of putting a wreath together. I see all the flowers, greens, ornaments, etc. in the store, but can't seem to put them together to make one gorgeous wreath. I love decorating for the holidays and I'd love some advice on how to do this finishing touch.

I would say the entertainment center where its the focal point of our living room... or the banister... Seems like I could do something beautiful & it just ends up looking like I draped a green piece of tree there... blah!

I'm going to be sure to say something about this on my blog tomorrow! FUN FUN FUN!

Help with my TREE!!! Ugh!! I have years (we've been married over 16 years) and we have SO many ornaments that are just mish-mash....I would love some help because there is no rhyme or reason to my tree. I tried getting decorative bulbs one year and they just look out of place, I think I bought the wrong ones personally. I dream of having another tree in my lower level that's all prettied up with bows and ornaments that have a color scheme...AHHHH!!! Thanks for the chance to win Stephanie! tonidreist@yahoo.com :O)

Hi Stephanie,
This is a great idea! You are so helpful!
My husband has always wanted a nice wreath for our front door but I've never found the "perfect one" unless it cost an arm and a leg - so I never purchased it...
Hope you and Ava are having a great day!
Hugs,
Amanda

I need a new tree badly! Maybe I'll shop at the after Christmas sales this year! Mine is an old Charlie Brown looking thing, but at least I don't care if the girls and the dog are into it! I'd love a real one every year, but they are just such a mess.
Help! (Can't wait to see you guys soon! )

FLORAL ARRANGEMENTS! Holiday and otherwise. And I know that is kind of your thing, but I peruse Michael's season after season, drooling over the fake flowers and clay pots...only to leave the store empty handed.

My problem is I not only don't know which flowers to put together but which ones do I place higher and lower in the arrangement.

I am pretty creative so I think I just need the shove in the right direction. I wish Michael's offered a community floral arranging class or something!
